Literature Text

Tip tap, tip tap.
Rain calls to wake me from an evening's nap.
"Come outside and play," it snaps.
Not now, not today...
I'm afraid it's going to be one of those days.

Tick tock, tick tock.
Time reminds me, exists as a subtle mock.
"Slept late again," says the clock.
Of course, how long has it been,
Since I last enjoyed the rain's refrain?

Silence,
Lonely rhythm commence.
Stagnant never-changing beat.
Stale staccato sings me back to sleep.
